I have been reading more about the organization I have learned in the past few months. This organzation will REPLACE AG Bell for parents who are seeking sound advices of what to do with their children who suffered hearing loss. This is a parent-driven organization. The members are very diverse who are very open minded and willing to learn everything unconditionally whether they "communicate orally, with signs, cue, and/or combined methods".
I believe this organization was formed in 1997 and it is a very young organization. Yet, it is growing at the same time which is not bad for 11 year old organization. I am contacting this organization about joining and maybe help out.
This oranization is called: Hands & Voices . The Ohio Chapter is in the "start up in process" now which means it is Provisional that it is established with contacts and in progress which have the authorization to use Hands & Voices name. The formal application is still in process and waiting for the final approval.

Welcome to Hands & Voices. :) I serve on the National board and I run the Illinois chapter. I have really enjoyed my time with the people involved and have learned so much from all the diversity.
We've grown from four chapters four years ago to a presence in 39 states. It's clear that Hands & Voices is filling a need.
Also, check out the many, many articles we have written:

Replace AGB organization? LIke how?
I am familiar with Hands and Voice organization, I really like the organization myself, one thing, Deaf and Hoh signers need to join and make more contribution about ASL in quarterly newspaper, also advocacy as well.
Can you explain more about authorization to use Hands and Voices name for contacts? Thanks for sharing!
Yup, it is a good organization, with excellent administration, no negative word attacks, like DBC. I mean, AGBell is doing its part, not bashing other organizations, and Hands & Voice is not bashing any organizations either. So DBC needs to look at both organizations to learn to be more professional, not to use damaging/harmful words. Karen Putz is part of Hands & Voices.
It sounds good.
I really like the fundamental principles of Hands & Voices. They seem to have more tact then other organizations.
