I am starting a bookkeeping business.......

I will be retiring within 2 1/2 years and I want to keep myself busy after I retire. I am planning to work from home. I know every business needs to have a bookkeeping system in place. The crazy thing is that a good bookkeeping system can be a godsend to the business owner. My accounting skills and eye for detail can turn natural ability into a bookkeeping profession when starting a bookkeeping business. As I wrote in my blog on July 12th July 12 blog, With my accounting experience (30 combined years), I will give my complete attention to someone's business who needs to be on the top of the bookkeeper’s priority list. Their business financial will be impeccable only if I as a bookkeeper is focused on getting things done the right way.

I live in Upper Arlington, Ohio and hoping to find a small business who is looking for a bookkeeper. I won't be expensive since I already have a income so my rate will be lower than most bookkeepers in the area.

I have a name that I came up with. I have gone to one seminar so far. I am going to "start a business" seminar later this week (Thursday).

I have a good accounting experience and I need to refresher on bookkeeping since I have not done bookkeeping since in the late 1980's when I volunteered for a few non-profit organizations.

Spotlight Business run by people with Disabilities

I have been thinking that I might create a "Spotlight" businesses run by people with disabilities especially Deaf and Multiple Sclerosis. I would prefer find businesses in Ohio but I am more than happy to post about any businesses in the United States. I will post "Spotlight Business run by people with Disabilities" as I whenever I come across a business which could be once a week, once a month or several times a day, depending on when I learned about the businesses.

My first is one I have posted in the past which is Deaf Initiatives, Inc.which is an Ohio organization focusing on youth who are deaf or hard of hearing, and their families, have access to resources, professionals and activities that will help guide them into becoming successful and contributing members of our society.

Keepsake Theme Quilts and Wall Hangings is a non-profit organization that employs deaf and hard of hearing adults. They are an entity of Deaf Initiatives that provides initiatives to help strengthen the potential of youth that are deaf or hard of hearing.
