After being ignorant and getting over it being ignorant

Our society (especially government) is geared to destroy individual's independence and often, to me, they are known as "Stumble Causers". Jesus said, "Woe to you also, lawyers [experts in religious law]! For you load men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers" (Luke 11:46). Some people with disabilities may never recover from shattering of their confidence by those who stumble them. Their growth is stunted and their usefulness destroyed, or at the least greatly hindered from that moment on. We are probably too naive or too ignorant to really understand this. When we learn that the word "offend" which actually means cause to stumble. We cannot turn the clock back and fix it. Many people forget and often try to do their own ways circumstances happens that they never stop and think because their human minds often see doors closing when ignoring another door opening. I believe it is time for me to bury my regrets and start looking into positive future. I should "learn" from the past rather than "holding on to the past". It would be nice not to have any regrets. If I had no regrets, I would never grow.

Quotes about "Learning from Mistakes".
"What I am great advocate of looking into the past, I could warn everybody against living in the past. The only justification for looking to the past is that we may learn great lessons from it and apply them" (Martyn Lloyd-Jones)

By avoiding the mistakes of the past: "Those who fail to remember the past are condemned to repeat it" (George Santayana)

By repeating the victories of the past: "Those who fail to remember the past are condemned not to repeat it" (David B. Calhoun)

I believe that the general public have misconceptions about what disabled people can do. It is hard for some to concentrate on their abilities rather than their disabilities. No matter if governments and businesses have the best policies in the world but people still will have real anxiety about different types of disability. We can be looking at a person’s abilities and thinking about what they can do rather than what they can’t do by looking at the individual circumstances, not the disability. There is evidence to show that if a disabled person finds the right job, they are most likely will stay with the company a lot longer than non-disabled people.

Both people with and without disabilities as a team, can increase self-confidence by communicating that leads to identifying goals, identifying barriers to goals and dealing with feelings between people. We can start building confidence. Confidence is the product or result of one's past experience of one's system of strategies to deal with solving real-life problems, to knowledge of self and outlook of the future. Self confidence is a quality that, along with self-control, can enhance a person's empowerment because it can help to generate or increase motivation to achieve goals. We can become something other than what we are. We can do this in EVERY ASPECTS of our lives, not just disability. :)

The real questions are: Is the general public ready to do this? Or, are they too self-absorbed in their own little problems to care?

Romans 15:1-7 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Below are for those who wants to apply the verses into their lives. The Bible is NOT for everyone. Its not the Scriptures that are corrupted. Its a man's heart that is corrupted. Intelligence, reason, and choice. We are to Honor the Word (not the Bible). Studying the scriptures requires the Holy Spirit which is inward, not outward. The Holy Spirit is within us believers, Christ dwells in our hearts, and "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27) is the burning core of the Christian faith. If a person don't want to read the Bible, then that person don't have to read the Bible. We have that freedom because this is between you and God.

Colossians 3:13 "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Galatians 6:2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

It's a fine line. With state and federal regulations you occasionally see jobs filled with the wrong person simply to comply, and that hurts every competent, competitive disabled person who follows. The other day I saw for the first time the term "role disability" and supposedly 43.4% of us have one or more of the conditions which impair our ability to perform our "major life roles." Add that to ADA and universal health care and you've got a HUGE problem!
