ADA is a very commendable law....... however

the law is often being abused by those who are not "really disabled". One thing I hate is people who are not really disabled are using ADA to use their own benefits when ADA is really meant for those who really need it.

This is like ""If you are not perfect, you would be covered by the law."

I can see the future of ADA will be destroyed by the "able" people. We disabled people are fighting for our independence and we want to work that ADA has helped us in a great way. We disabled people are not so lucky as we are, many people are born with or in the course of their life due to some tragic event gets impaired. We face many difficulties in leading even a simple life that "able" people don't have problems with.

The primary motive of the American Disabilities Act (ADA) is to provide for a better life to the disabled ones, NOT the able ones.

Jim, I agree with you about the A.D.A.
You say "the law is often being abused by those who are not "really disabled"." At clinic often abused me and I say well, Wait and See what's happened to you?

I file complaint about 3 clinic so far in two years. 4 clinic did admitted and now stopped call my kids to interpreters. I was very frustrated without my knowledge they did abused on my kids on phone. I feel betray that my kids cannot intepreter for doctor. They will not willing to pay my kids to interpreter. It is not being fair. They realized they abused and keep denied and now I find a details a truth after I close the four case less 3 years.

My hearing children feel low esteem because they did not want me to know when I am not able to hear their conversated.

I couldn't agree more. My brother-in-law's family is one that abuses this. It makes me very angry because people who abuse the system make it more difficult for the rest of us to get our families the help they need.
