Secret's out: Mystery-shopping gig was scam

As reported in the Columbus Dispatch

My wife and I were looking at something like this to make money however, the more I researched about this, the more I am concerned about it. This article confirms my concerns.

It depends on the company. Just like any other busniess, this has its share of scam artists. One needs to screen the companies themselves carefully before accepting their offers.

Common sense: You don't get paid before you do the job. Don't cash checks in your bank for a strange entity. If it sounds like a scam, it is.

I know two friends who are earning incomes doing mystery shopping for reputable companies for several years. They get paid AFTER performing their duties. They both love the work.

Will be hard to find the real deal, but don't give up...they MUST be out there.
