Politicians, Government, Patriotism and Terrorism

As a registered Republican (not a member), I do not like the current U.S. government's policies, responses, and actions in regard to pursuing and eradicating terrorism on a global scale. This has caused for increased security actions that lead to even more economic hard times, danger, and reduced personal freedom. Right now, we are living in "economic hard times" due to military spending and our citizens being send to the othre side of the world to "represent" U.S.A. in controlling what we do not like.

As U.S. Citizens, what do we know what it really means to be a "Patriot"? Its not the U.S. Government fault but rather the PEOPLE who are running the government. I am a strong Christian and I am also a Patriot but I am very nuetural when it comes to politics. I do NOT like telling other people what to do with their lives. In the United States, we are in a "democratic country" which means the Government will follow what the people want. United States are NOT a "Theocracy Government" (i.e. Christian Moral Laws). How many countries today have "Theocracy" type of Government? Did you know that only "theocracy" government I know of are some "Muslim" countries (I think at least 2) that follow their religious laws to force people to obey even though they do NOT agree or believe? Do we want that here?

The world who are without Christ also have their own views. More often than not, the secular world view is in conflict with the bible. To Christians, this should NOT be a surprise. To the world who are without Christ, this conflict is not a surprise either. I think both Republican and Democrat have Christian attributes if each removed non-Christian attributes. By removing the non-Christian attributes, you will see the actual listing of Christian attributes. As Christians, we can commit ourselves to work more actively for public policies that reduce militarism, war, and political and economic inequities. We must work persistently and faithfully for a more peaceful and equitable world community. That means we if we do not like what the Government is doing, GET INVOLVED and make it change (if God is willing).

I don't have any problems for us to a war but I do have a problem for "remaining" in the war that cannot be successful. Its time for our polticians to focus on the American Citizens and make the economic work again. We are focusing on Iraq, Iran and other problems on the other side of the world.

Also, United States should be working with United Nation, not outside of it. That's another is needed to be focused on. I have voted for Bush twice because I thought he was a better candidate than the other candidate who ran against him. However, I am sad, disappointed and frustrated with President Bush's decisions and actions. To me, he does not really represent the "Republican Party". In fact, I don't think I know what is a "Republican Party" anymore. I am really lost and not too sure what to do this year's election.
